MBA TV - Episode fourteen

In episode fourteen we watch the class of MBA2009 graduate from the full-time programme at London Business School. Graduation recognises the outstanding achievement of an MBA, giving students the chance to celebrate a life-changing two year experience with the life-long friends that they’ve made along the way. Our graduating MBA class are looking forward to bright futures, with many of them embarking on careers that will take them around the world.

During term time the ever popular weekly ‘Sundowners’ gives students the chance to meet up with fellow classmates and students from other programmes, whilst providing further opportunity to meet recruiters.

MBA TV, Episode eleven

Studying at London Business School gives our MBAs a truly global experience. Their classmates hail from over 60 countries, as well as being taught by world-class faculty from more than 30 countries. As if this wasn’t enough, we have one of the world’s largest International Exchange Programmes (IEP).

Each year around a third of second-year MBAs take the opportunity to spend a term abroad at one of over 30 partner schools, travelling as far afield as China, India, South Africa and Australia, building new business networks and experiencing a new culture.

In this episode we take a closer look at the IEP including:
• An interview with Stephen Chadwick, Student Services Manager on the IEP
• Coverage of the Exchange Fair, where first year MBAs can meet students who have already lived the exchange experience and alumni from partner schools
• Insights from MBAs who’ve returned from exchange.

MBA TV - Episode nine

Episode nine of MBA TV is here! The Marketing Club is one of the largest and most active professional clubs at London Business School. For students interested in marketing, product development, strategy and advertising, the club offers master classes, interview and case preparation workshops, speaker and networking events and the annual Marketing conference.

In this episode we attend ‘Meet the Marketers’, an event based on the concept of speed dating, giving students valuable face-to-face time with marketers from some of the biggest and best-known companies in the world. We speak to representatives from Cadbury, General Mills and Coca Cola, and catch up with the Marketing Club and current students.

Episode eight of MBA TV is here!  The mission of the Women in Business Club is to encourage and enable more women to achieve their individual desired successes - whether they are at the helm of a multinational company, running their own business, or in any position that provides them great satisfaction and a meaningful work-life balance.

The London Business School Women in Business Conference is widely recognised as the leading women's conference in Europe, profiling influential women leaders from the likes of Shell, Goldman Sachs and Santander. The conference, Beyond Ideas: Making Global Impact highlights the impact women are making in local and global marketplaces and how they are making it. This episode includes interviews with Merlyn Lowther, Non-Executive Director, Schroders Plc, Christine Raynaud, CEO, Hudson Europe, Eva Gustavsson, President, Women in Business club and current MBA students.

Recruitment activities take place throughout the year, and in this episode we focus on the Industry Careers Fair, when many of our recruiters visit campus to introduce their company and meet our students.

The bi-annual Industry Careers Fair held each spring and autumn term attracts an impressive variety of recruiters from across the industry sector.

This episode includes interviews with Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo and Whirlpool, as well as Jurek Sikorski, Associate Director of Career Services and current MBA students.

The latest episode of MBA TV is here. London Business School's MBA is about developing people with the knowledge, skills and attributes to become global business leaders. In this episode we take a closer look at GLAM, the Global Leadership Assessment for Managers.  

When students start the MBA Programme, GLAM is the perfect platform to identify their current skill set and start to develop themselves as global leaders.

The course helps students to bridge the gap which many people have between their understanding of new countries and cultures and their ability to lead others in culturally sensitive ways. 

This episode features interviews with MBA students and faculty, as well as footage of the week long course in action.

The latest episode of MBA TV is here. In this episode we feature some of the highlights of the annual Global Energy Summit hosted by the London Business School Energy Club. The Club has over 1200 active members who are interested in all aspects of the energy sector. Each year, the Club runs events for students, alumni, and members of the energy industry. These events include speaker sessions, career forums, site visits, social events, and the Energy Club’s flagship event, The Global Energy Summit.

The summit titled ‘Energising the future: Identifying Opportunities and Overcoming Challenges’, allowed energy leaders to engage in thought-provoking debate and provide their views on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. 

The summit included sessions on:

  • ‘Capitalising on the Future of Energy’ with a keynote from Jeremy Rifkin, Foundation of Economic trends,
  • ‘Capturing Value through Biofuels’, and
  • ‘The Changing Landscape of Oil and Gas.

MBA TV went along to speak with some of the Summit attendees.

MBA TV, Episode four

The fourth episode of MBA TV is now available to view online. In this episode we show you the highlights of the 2008 Media Summit hosted by the London Business School Media Club. The club has over 300 student and 650 alumni members, and is one of the most active professional clubs on campus. Students are responsible for developing the content of the summit and securing funding, this year they attracted a number of high profile speakers from the media industry including:

·         Jon Snow, Channel 4 Newsreader

·         Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC

·         Bill Roedy, Chairman and CEO, MTV Networks International

·         Alan Rusbridger, Editor-in-chief of the Guardian News & Media

·         Stewart Till, Chairman of the UK Film Council

MBA TV, Episode three

The latest episode of MBA TV is now available to view. In this episode filmed on Volunteer Day we catch up with three groups of students who took part in three very different voluntary projects. Life as an MBA student is certainly never dull, from getting their hands dirty with some hard work at Kensington Gardens to getting creative to come up with a unique ‘one-off’ gift idea for Oxfam.

London Business School launches MBA TV

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our brand new series of videos. MBA TV provides viewers with a window into life at London Business School.

Experience our MBA first hand as you are guided through the academic year and learn what it means to study a world-class MBA in such a vibrant city.

Features will cover the School community, curriculum highlights, major campus events and club activities. From fly on the wall reporting to up front interviews you will gain access to staff, faculty, alumni and students.

In this first episode we feature the new Class of MBA2010 as they meet each other during Orientation.
